Enough with the corn, already!

Please enjoy this scientific conversation — with not a single correct scientific fact or observation — that was had en route to Josh's parents' house for Yom Kippur:

JOSH: I was watching CNN, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta said the human body is about 60 percent corn.
ME: Corn?
JOSH: Yeah.
ME: There's no way that's even possible.
JOSH: Well, I saw it on TV, so it must be true.
ME: But isn't the human body, like, 75 percent water?
JOSH: I didn't say Dr. Sanjay Gupta could add.
ME: Corn.
JOSH: You know, not just from corn corn, but high-fructose corn syrup, that kind of thing. It's in everything we eat.
ME: Well, if that's true, then I'm 83 percent fudge.

I have a huge crush on Dr. Gupta. Did you know he grew up in Novi? And he went to U of M! BTW Michigan State is 4-0!

Dr. Gupta is so super-hot. I don't care if he can't add; he's smokin'. I didn't know about The Novi! Doesn't that make you feel so close to him?

I still have the picture of you and me standing in front of Beaumont Tower framed on my dresser. We took it the day we went to the MSU-Memphis game with Bench after we graduated. Such a good day. I miss you!

Um, it sounds like it's time for someone to start their own blog. The OJ blog, apparently. Because Marlagarla started this one to post as she saw fit--or not quite, as the slogan goes.

Seriously, that Sanjay Gupta is super-hot. O.J. Simpson... not so much. I'd much rather talk about Dr. Gupta than O.J.

MarlaGarla - THIS is a super fun blog!

WHATEVER!!! I see somebody who is more obedient got HER comment posted. Reminiscent of the Nazi regime this blog is. Does the name Mousellini ring a bell to anyone? I can't believe this. Here I thought this was the site of a forward thinking, liberal minded individual who claimed to invite discourse, but clearly that was mere artiface. So I guess in order to be deemed a worthy post, one has to be more interested in discussing Sanjay Gupta's package and not the socio-political ramifications of OJ Simpson dominating another decade of news while world continues to sprial toward ruin. So sad. I'm outta here. The real question is, will you post this? I think I know the answer.

I do invite discourse. What I do not invite is disrespect in discourse. If you feel I'm a Nazi because I do not welcome negativity on my blog, then call me Hitler. Calling somebody who defended me my security detail (the first comment I did not post) is, to me, an empty argument and does not embrace the spirit of discourse. And to accuse me of censorship (the second one) is akin to accusing every magazine and newspaper and, yes, blog on the planet of censorship because they certainly don't publish every letter and article written for them. It's my blog, so I chose not to allow the post. I don't have to tolerate attacks against myself or other readers here. That's not what this blog is for.

I never said you couldn't debate OJ, as much as I do not believe that my blog is the forum for it. I created this blog as catharsis for myself during an extremely difficult time in my life. I think other people have found it to be a comfortable place to come. So I asked for kindness in argument, in the spirit of the blog. That's all. In response, I was told my recent posts aren't good enough. I haven't had time to write anything substantial (and I've also spent weeks on my most recent one) so I offered up something whimsical. I liked those posts. If you don't like them, then feel free to find another blog to enjoy. I certainly don't read every blog out there because there are plenty I don't like.

If my posts haven't been hearty enough, then I hope you find another blog to read that satisfies that need for you. If you did not find it here, then thank you for trying it out.
